When to choose PubViewer
Choose PubViewer when you just need to see a flyer, newsletter, or brochure and download a PDF β especially on a locked-down work laptop or Chromebook where you cannot install software. Upload, convert, preview pages, print or save PDF. Files are processed for conversion and then cleaned up.
It is also the fastest path for non-technical recipients: send a link, drop the file, done. No suite updates, no βwhich LibreOffice module opens PUB?β confusion.
When to choose LibreOffice Draw
Choose LibreOffice Draw when you need offline access, repeated work on many .pub files, or light editing before export. Draw is the free desktop app that still understands a large share of Publisher documents and can export print-ready PDFs.
Trade-offs: you must install and update the suite, and complex Publisher art can still need cleanup. For pure βopen this attachment once,β PubViewer is usually less friction.
Recommendation
One-off viewing: use PubViewer. Editing or offline workflows: install LibreOffice Draw. For long-term archives, convert important publications to PDF now β Publisher support is winding down. See also Publisher alternatives and convert PUB to PDF.
